Preston Niayesh takes home the King of the Pool award from the San Luis Obispo meet for the 8-year olds. The recognition is awarded to the one individual in each age division whose cumulative time from four sprint events totals to the fastest time.
Seventeen TNT swimmers competed at the meet with improvements being led by 11 year old JT Scott who made his return appearance as TNT. JT was the sole swimmer to improve 100% of his times. A total of seven swimmers improved 50% or more of their times. These swimmers included: JT Scott (100%), Emily Shandrew (80%), Keshin Visahan (80%), Alex Ellis (71%), Sam Hansen (71%), Fayyaz Ahamed (60%) and Preston Niayesh (60%).
Swimmers achieving new time standards include 9 year old Keshin Visahan who now hold two Junior Olympic qualifying times (50 and 100 meter backstroke) for the 9-10 age group. Keshin is currently 9 years old. Alex Ellis, Alex Hansen and Katelyn Herrera all achieve an additional Senior State meet qualifying time. Alex Ellis now qualifies in the 50 free and 100 back, Alex Hansen achieves a new cut in the 400 IM, now qualified in the 100 back, 200 back, 200 breast, 1500 free and 400 IM events, while 12-year old Katelyn Herrera now qualifies in both the 100 and 200 meter butterfly events.
A single team record was also broken while at the meet. 12 year old Katelyn Herrera swims the 200 meter butterfly in a time of 2:49.89, breaking the previous team record that was set by 11-year old Khloe McCarthy last month at the Fresno meet.
