Fourty-one TNT swimmers participated in the March Intersquad meet that was put together by Kacy Ota and run at the Tulare Western pool during March 14th. Welcome to four swimmers who have newly recorded times with the team. These include: Jacob Burch-Konda (age 12), Alonso Esobedo (age 10), Madison Harris (age 14) and McKenzie Harris (age 11).

Seven of our swimmers improved all events that they competed in. Perfect improvement performances were led by Selma swimmers Emily Goodbar, Emily Lehrman and Satoshi Shinkawa; Visalia swimmer Kyle Grissom; and Tulare swimmers Madison McCarthy, Kara Nino and Christopher Nolan. Congratulations to all six for 100% improvements. Seven additional swimmers improved at least half of their events. These included Katelyn Herrera (75%), Michael Mason (67%), Khloe McCarthy (67%), Noe Ortiz (67%), Morgan Coddington (60%), Brianna Fleeman (60%), Jimmy Koster (50%) and Megan Nino (50%). Improvement percentages are based on events 50 yards or longer, and only on those times that have been previously recorded on the team.

Twelve year old Khloe McCarthy made her first Far Western cut in the 400 IM (5:14.04) at the Intersquad meet. She will join the list of 25 TNT swimmers who have qualifying times. Two other TNT swimmers made cuts in new events at the meet. Twelve year old Katelyn Herrera now qualifies in both the 100 IM (1:08.39) and 400 IM (5:09.90) which increases her total event count to eight (200 free – 2:07.98, 100 fly – 1:07.21, 200 IM – 2:26.56, 100 free – 59.01, 500 free – 5:43.81 and 200 fly – 2:30.37). Twelve year old Kyle Grissom also qualified in two new events which included the 100 back (1:08.07) and 50 free (26.92). This brings his total event count to four: 100 fly (1:04.03) and 50 fly (28.02).

The entry deadline for Far Westerns is Wednesday, March 31st. The following 25 swimmers have Far Western qualifying times going into the Porterville long course meet this next weekend.
