Our very own coach Malaine is among those students graduating this summer. Melaine Garrison and her family have been long-time members of TNT. Beginning as an age group swimmer with the club while in the 10-under divisions she went on the attend and compete for Immanuel High School, and then on to become a standout at the College of the Sequoias where she recently graduated. We are very fortunate to have Melaine a part of our coaching staff.

Malaine plans on pursuing a career in nursing and also plans on continuing her education in Fresno.

Congratulations Coach Malaine. We are all proud of you.

Coach Patrick Ota who currently trains swimmers in the Selma program as well as coaches the Fresno Pacific college program has been voted 2010 Central California Swimming Senior Coach of the Year. In addition to being a successful senior swimmer himself, he now has helped a number of swimmers develop to the National and Olympic Trial levels of competition. This week, Pat is accompanying swimmers who he trains to USA Swimming Nationals meet held in Irvine, CA. Undoubtedly, once the Olympic Trial time standards are published, he will have qualifiers for the meet which will take place two years from now.

Shauna Rhea is one of several parents in Tulare who are instrumental in the operation of the program there. Along with other parents, she has taken on the responsibility of coordinating officiating efforts among our various groups. At the CCS level, Shauna has taken on the responsibility of Records Chair and is instrumental at ensuring that swimmers across Central California Swimming receive the recognition they deserve.

Congratulations to both Patrick and Shauna for the recognition that is so well deserved.

Swim Network has conducted an interview with our very own coach Angela Martinho. Angela has been selected for the interview based on the level of success of our TNT swimmers. Angela was voted CCS Age Group Coach of the Year last summer. The interview is published at www.swimnetwork.com and already has over 200 hits. Pretty interesting considering that the interview was only posted last week (someone should tell her). Congratulations Angela – we are proud of you .
