Day 5 (Sunday) – The final day of Sectionals concludes with two team records being broken by two TNT swimmers. Sam Hansen continues to improve his mile (1500 meter freestyle) event swimming from a 17:17.55 that he used to qualify for Sectionals at the Ventura meet last month, to a 17:05.58, thereby establishing a new team record. 14-year old Nathan Rhea broke his record in the 100 meter breaststroke, dropping from a 1:13.01 swam last weekend at the Q meet, to a 1:12.19. Zach Hansen also improved his 1:11.47 in the 100 breaststroke to a 1:08.33, and Katherine Bristow neared her life-time best in the 100 breaststroke with her 1:25.28 on this final day. A total of five team records were set this weekend: Sam Hansen (800 free – 9:04.07 & 1500 free – 17:05.58), Zach Hansen (200 breaststroke 2:28.22), and Nathan Rhea (200 breaststroke – 2:32.13 & 100 breaststroke – 1:12.19). The team improvement percentage was 73% with Sam Hansen, Zach Hansen and Hannah Giles improving 100% of their times. Both Nathan Rhea and Katherine Bristow improved 67% of their times.
